Trump Boasts of Halting Israel-Iran Conflict

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump asserted that both Israel and Iran sought to end their ongoing war, taking credit for neutralizing Iran’s nuclear capabilities before the fighting ceased.

In a post on Truth Social, he declared, "Both Israel and Iran wanted to stop the War, equally! It was my great honor to Destroy All Nuclear facilities & capability, and then, STOP THE WAR!"

The conflict escalated on June 13 when Israel initiated airstrikes targeting multiple locations in Iran, including military and nuclear complexes, accusing Tehran of nearing nuclear weapon development—a charge Iran strongly denies.

In response, Iran carried out missile and drone counterattacks. The United States then escalated its involvement by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites on Sunday.

Following 12 days of hostilities between the two long-standing adversaries, Trump announced late Monday that a ceasefire had been established, effectively bringing the conflict to an end.
