Two people get killed from head-on crash Melbourne suburb
According to a police report, the incident occurred around 9:25 a.m. on Monday in Templestowe, located about 16 kilometers northeast of Melbourne’s city center. An SUV traveling northbound crossed into the opposite lane and collided directly with a hatchback.
Both passengers in the hatchback, whose identities have not yet been released, died at the scene. The 54-year-old female driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized under police supervision.
Following the initial crash, a second SUV was also hit, but its occupants escaped unharmed.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the precise details surrounding the collision.
This event marks the sixth deadly traffic accident in Victoria since Friday. Police Superintendent Justin Goldsmith noted that many of these accidents stemmed from a single moment of negligence or failure to comply with traffic rules.
