Trump Extends Iran Truce, Naval Blockade Pending Unified Tehran Plan
In remarks attributed to a commander of the Aerospace Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the message said: “If their territory is used against Iran, they must say goodbye to oil production in the Middle East,” as reported by the semi-official Mehr news agency.
The comments come amid increasing regional tensions, with Iran signaling that neighboring states could face repercussions if they are involved, directly or indirectly, in any escalation of the conflict.
The warning follows developments in which US President Donald Trump extended the ceasefire with Iran on Tuesday, allowing additional time for Tehran to prepare what he described as a “unified proposal,” following a request from Pakistani officials.
The broader conflict escalated after joint US and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28. In response, Iran launched retaliatory attacks targeting Israel as well as other regional states hosting US military assets.
Diplomatic efforts have also continued alongside the tensions. Pakistan previously hosted an initial round of peace talks on April 11, following its role in brokering a two-week ceasefire agreement on April 8.
Despite these efforts, regional stability remains fragile, with ongoing warnings, military actions, and stalled negotiations contributing to heightened uncertainty across the Middle East.
