Dozens of Homes Destroyed in Philippines Fire

(MENAFN) According to reports, a large fire swept through a densely populated residential area in the Philippines, destroying multiple homes and forcing hundreds of residents to evacuate.

The blaze broke out late Tuesday in the Barangay area of Bacolod City, specifically affecting the Purok Ramon Magsaysay Dawis neighborhood, as reported by local media citing city social welfare officials.

Authorities stated that at least 103 families, totaling 307 individuals, were displaced after the fire rapidly spread through the community.

Initial assessments indicate that 27 houses were completely destroyed, while another 10 sustained varying levels of damage. Officials noted that the figures could increase as damage verification efforts continue.

Emergency response teams were deployed to assist affected residents, many of whom were relocated to temporary evacuation centers while recovery operations and assistance efforts are underway.
